No I don’t have to respect your faith

Your faith needs to earn my respect

As long as you keep using it to hate

None is what you can expect

You’re cherry picking fairy tales to suit your own view

The irony of your hypocrisy is always lost on you

Then you shout down any inconvenient truth

With empty slogans on a bracelet, like,

“What would Jesus do?”

But my soul cannot be bought

At least not for what you’ve got

And if you knew what I really thought

You’d probably wanna have me shot!

You may never see me draped in a flag

Yet I’m a patriot in my own way

I’m not a dog that the tail can wag

Or a sheep you can lead astray

I’m proud to be here in the land of the free

But I believe we the people really should mean WE

maybe I don’t see the world like you do

But I’ve still got a right to be… just like you

And the truth cannot be bought

Facts don’t care if you agree or not

If you knew what I really thought
