Chicken, Beer, and Atmosphere (The Springwater Song)

I pulled off of the road on my way to music city

At a hole in the wall where the graffiti is witty

Cracked the door and rung a bell, heard the bartender yell

Welcome in, beer and chicken, cash only, or go to hell

I looked around the dark, spied a few sleepy dudes

Sloughing off the day, sipping on their brews

I asked one, “Say what’s to do around here?”

He shrugged, “got chicken, beer, and atmosphere…

Don’t go ruining it.”

So I threw some darts, drank a beer, and ate a piece of chicken

Then she walked in, and I felt  my pulse start to aquicken

Wasn’t sure I’d ever seen person glow like that

Like some kind of fallen angel with a really killer hat

She took in the room and saw me in the corner

I swear her eyes twinkled just before she cantered over

She said, “Hey there, you must be new around here.

Hope you like our chicken, beer, and atmosphere.”

and maybe I do…

We got chicken beer and atmosphere

Don’t see the need for much else around here

If you’re looking for culture, we don’t do that, dear

But we got chicken beer and atmosphere

She whooped my ass in pool, drank me underneath the table

She asked me if I’d like to dance but I wasn’t able

So she handed me a number told me that I ought to call it

Then  she hugged me goodbye and lifted my damn wallet

But I didn’t notice til she was long gone

Guess that’s why they had me paying cash all along

Called that number, some man answered and said

“What’s that I hear? Sounds like chicken, beer, and atmosphere!”

We got chicken beer and atmosphere

Don’t see the need for much else around here

If you’re looking for culture, we don’t do that, dear

But we got chicken beer and atmosphere

If you’re looking for culture, we don’t do that, dear

But we got chicken beer and atmosphere
